Dear All Saints Catholic Academy Families,
As we navigate through the heart of winter, we want to ensure that all students are safe, comfortable, and healthy during the colder months. With this in mind, we would like to share important information regarding outdoor activities during the winter season.
Temperature Guidelines
We follow a clear guideline for determining whether students will go outside for recess or other outdoor activities. The cut-off temperature is 40°F, and we also consider the wind chill factor when making our decisions. If the temperature or wind chill falls below this threshold, students will remain indoors.
Proper Winter Attire
To ensure that your child is adequately prepared for outdoor time, please make sure they come to school dressed appropriately for winter weather. This includes wearing:
A winter coat
Hats, gloves, and scarves
Appropriate footwear when needed
Please note that sweaters and hoodies alone are not sufficient to keep children warm in these conditions. Proper outerwear is essential to prevent unnecessary exposure to the cold.
If a student doesn’t have the proper attire they will not be permitted outside for recess.
Preventing Illness
By adhering to these guidelines and ensuring that students are dressed warmly, we can help reduce the likelihood of illness. Your cooperation in this matter plays a vital role in keeping our students healthy and able to participate fully in their learning experiences.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we work together to prioritize the well-being of our school community.Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe and healthy during the winter season.
Warm regards,
John Rios
